In order to keep the society cleaner and neater we at Meher Roshani Foundation in collaboration with Whistling Woods International donated multiple garbage bags to Bajaj Auto, an auto rickshaw union.

MRF sponsored, created and distributed over 400 CarBins Garbage bags since 2019 so that our roads are not littered. These completely washable and easy to use bins, are created and designed by our Founder Ms. Roshani Shenazz with a quote stating “Cleanliness is not a Choice, It is the very Air you Breathe”

There are dustbins placed in restaurants, cafés, buildings, on the streets and railway stations but there’s no dustbins in vehicles. In Mumbai, auto rickshaws are one of the most widely used modes of transportation, often accommodating passengers who carry packaged food, beverages, and other items. These garbage bags aim to promote cleanliness by providing a convenient solution for passengers to responsibly dispose of their waste. Through this initiative, we hope to inspire positive change and encourage a collective effort toward maintaining a cleaner environment. We plan to approach taxis, tourist vehicles and even state run buses to have the same on board in future.

We also had Dr. Deepali Parikh as our special guest to give them a talk on self-care and menstrual hygiene.

We were happy to have our Special Guests and Goodwill Ambassadors like Tusshar Kapoor, Co-Trustee & Celebrity Make-up Artist Cherag Bambboat, friend Viraf Daruwala who will also be doing a singing performance to which all enjoyed thoroughly.

The event culminated in a vibrant cultural program, showcasing performances by our participants and students and featuring songs, shayris and dances that celebrate our community’s spirit. Our vocational Beauty Prpgram students gave a wonderful dance performance on Taal Se Taal Mila from Film Taal which is celebrating 25 years and our Founder joined in, as she was also an Assistant Director on that film!

As a token of appreciation, we gave small gifts to our Special Guests and all the 80 Participants.

Our extended Founder’s Day celebrations continued at Parukh Dharamshala at Hughes Road, Mumbai on 28th September, where we will be having a fun morning session with song and dance for the elders, with performances from friend and composer Kaizad Patel and some games for our loving elders followed by cake cutting. We will also donate medical equipment like wheelchairs, nebulisers, BP machines, gloves, diapers, Macintosh sheets and Six months’ stock of their prescribed medicines for all Old Age home residents at the Dharamshala.

We especially thank Meghna Ghai Puri and Whistling Woods International for their immense support right from the onset.

We also thank all our Donors, Goodwill Ambassadors, and Patrons, and all who have supported us right from 2011. Your contributions have made a significant difference in the lives of many.
